At 'Neva River'

I had seen it mentioned in a few posts and when I read on Neva's blog that there's a photo-challenge, I simply head to go to the Neva River Sim and give it a try ...
And OMG ... what a sim ... I even had to go there several times, spent ages there and filled my hd with pix ...
Too bad that Neva River closes for the public today ... I would have loved to do some filming there too ...

Berry made me procrastinate !!!!

Well ... I actually have quite a list of stuff to do ...
pleasant (like finishing a movie clip I'm working on for a while now, playing my bass, finishing a flyer(that one's pretty urgent)) ...
and unpleasant (darn tax stuff and better not even mentioning darn housework)
But Strawberry Singh made me procrastinate all that and answer a couple of questions instead ;-)

1. What is the rez date for your current SL Avatar that you use most often?
March 1-2007

 2.  Where was the first place you made friends as a newb and got to know people in Second Life?
On a sim called 'Bali Hai'. As far as I remember I got there because I saw the name Anakin Gallacher in an event listing, when I was searching for concerts. I thought it was an interesting name ... and I like listening to Sax-music. It was in the first weeks of my SL-Life and I was quite bored of SL, didn't know what to do there and almost ready to finish my short SL-Live. But the concert was cool and as I didn't know where else to go, I just stayed at Bali Hai ... I met my a first friend there, a nice dutch guy, actually the only person from SL that I ever met in RL too (me waves at Boss) ... and I spend quite some hours there cleaning windows, sweeping the floor and gardening (aka camping) ... and thereby earning my first Linden$ ... ah ... those memories ;-)

  3.  Where do you spend most of your SL time now?
I'm not as often in SL anymore as I used to be ... But I still keep doing my 2 hosting shifts at Sanctuary Rock (kinda the only time I talk to someone in SL now) ... Try to do a PhotoHunt every monday (that way I get to see quite interesting places )... or build nonsens and scenes for my pics and machinimason my parcel.

  4.  Who is your closest friend in Second Life? (only pick one)
There've been 2 persons that I felt very close to, but both left SL long ago. To one of them I talk everyday via msn still tho ... but I never felt that close to anyone in SL anymore, I became a kind of loner, but I enjoy talking to all kind of nice and interesting  ppl at Sanctuary Rock ... and of course I love to push around Rudh (my fav actress) for my movie clips ... ;-)

  5.   What is the most favorite thing in your inventory? (only pick one)
erm ... I got no idea ... I guess that changes with the mood ... 
maybe my hair, cause I made and scripted it, and tho it's far from perfect, posh, realisic looking or whatever ... it's kinda unique and something that makes me ME ... *grins*

  6.  The last thing you purchased in Second Life?

  7.  What color clothing does your avatar wear most often?
Black/Grey ... and some green is cool too ;-)

  8.  Do you prefer to walk, run or fly?
I prefer to tp ... ;-) ... or I cam around till I find something I can right click/sit on ...

  9.  What is the craziest thing you’ve ever done in SL?   
I'm not sure if there's really anything crazy you can 'do' ... crazy things usually just seem to 'happen' ... guess I stick to simple fun

Why, damnit, why do they close the services I like ?

I'm not very demanding ... 
when I have something working well for me, I don't need changes, updates, new stuff and whatever shit every few weeks ...
Updating, reinstalling, readjusting ... it's all a PITA

But the worst is taking my beloved stuff, which I got so used to, away from me ...
MSN will close in April ... Scheisse !!!
They say ... use Skype .... so I tried Skype and I think it's crap, well ... at least I don't like it ...
And now I get told that Google Reader closes in July ... Scheisse !!!!
Find something else, they say ... so I looked around for something new ... most of what I found, I didn't like ... and now I tried 'The Old Reader' exported my abos from Google Reader ... imported to 'The Old Reader' and got the message:
 'Thank you for uploading your OPML file. We will soon start importing your subscriptions, which might take up to several hours depending on the amount of feeds you have.

There are 25696 users in the import queue ahead of you.' 
Great !!!
OK, maybe I should have waited some days till the first run is over ... but what I've seen so far doesn't make me happy anyway ....

So  right now I need something to brighten me up, cause I don't want to spend my precious weekend with bad mood ...

Always a nice idea is trying silly stuff ...

well ... I saw this on several blogs, like Rudh's, Dondo Dollinger's, Alicia Chenaux's, Deoridhe's, Tymmerie Thorne's ...

Fact #1
I'm stuck with my first avatar since March 2007 now ... darn ... that's 6 years now ... I'm kinda OLD ..............

Fact #2
There have been several times where I was very close to quitting SL, due to some collisions with RL or rather some RL problems that extended into SL ... or maybe I was just fed up in general, but I guess that's pretty normal
I'm still here .. erm ... there ... erm ... whatever

Fact #3
I don't like shopping ... I'm not even into fashion ... in neither life actually ;-)
I wear the same outfit almost every time I log in ... same skin, same shape, same hair (with changing colour and punky version tho)
So I only shop when I don't have the time or the ability to create stuff for my events at SR or my pics and machinimas.

Fact #4
Even after 6 years in SL I still cannot walk, run fly or drive properly ... I walk into walls, fall from cliffs, run over ppl with all kinds of vehicles, crash planes, hang glider and flying carpets ........ but I swear, I'm not drunk ;-p

Fact #5
I love planning stuff for the place I've rented, but so far I've never completed any of my plans ... ;-)
a few weeks ago I moved to a new place (1024 m2) and a few days ago, I was able to rent the 2 neighbour parcels as well (512 + 1344 m2) ... so I'm proud to have 2880 m2 and 658 prims , beach and water for my silly ideas (YaY ... mirrors of SL, here I come) ... *grins*

Fact #6
I'm not very social ... usually I just stand on my parcel, messing with terraforming (desaster), stuff for pix and clips ... or preparing for my events at SR ... or worse, I just stand around while fighting with blender, gimp or power director or try to do a blog-post ;-)
I'm not into that family / relationship stuff ... and I usually just scratch my head about some dramas that I hear/read of ;-)
Funny enough, I love to host at SR, which includes some talking ...
But beware, when I'm in the right mood, it can be hard to stop my talking nonsense ;-)

Fact #7
Except for my appearance and my ability to fly,dance and teleport ... there's hardly any difference between SL-me and RL-me, I think.
So I see my SL just as a creative add-on to my RL ;-)

yep ... that's how I prolly looked in RL too this morning ... lol

what a way to start a day after a super short night ... lol
I had set my alarm to 6:03 ... 
and when I woke up and looked at the clock it showed 6:52 ... 
only 8 minutes left till the start of my shift !!!!! DAMN !!!!!!
and I sure didn't want to miss a shift where Sundevildaddy was my DJ ...
so I gotta send big 'THANK YOU's and *HUGS*s to  Micheal Veriander who was already ready hit the stage and cover for me (actually a second time already that day, but that's another story ... hehe), but let me have my event ...
and to Than, who sorted it all out for me ;-))
to my DJ SDD and my dancer Violette, who helped me get into a party I was so not prepared for ...
and to the great crowd at Sanctuary Rock, who rocked with us in a fun party ;-))

And now I'm off to have a serious talk with my alarm clock ... cause tomorrow I sure don't want to oversleep on the first day in my new RL job !!!!!

Single Frame Stories - Block

The last days I was forced to think about something, to make a decision which quite affects my future (RL) life ...
and tho it was the choice between 2 rather positive possibilities, the  'thinking' made my pea-brain (and my belly) ache ...
Finally, after discussions with friends and family and rather bad sleep, I kicked my butt, pushed away the darn grey block of self-doubt and lack of confidence and made a decision ... maybe for the easier way, but I think it's a good one.

Almost there ........... aaaahhh noooo ... waiiiiiit ............. !!!!!!

guess that comes  with the age ... tho it started really early with me  ... 
first you forget a lot of more or less important stuff ...
and then you remember it in kinda the wrong moment ;-)
at least I didn't forget the Single Frame Stories this week, tho I'm almost late ...

Today Linden Lab reminded me of something I haven't thought of in almost all of the recent years ...
REZDAY ... the 6th !!! ... darn ... now I feel really old ... THANK YOU, LL ... lol
Anyways, I won't let pass by a chance to eat some tasty cake ... nom nom nom ...
So do I have to get ready for the seven-year itch now?
